We are a group of practitioners who are passionate about developing simple ways of providing therapeutic experiences outdoors to people looking for support, whether in your personal journey or your professional practice. We are all local to Oxford and as a group we bring together skills and experiences from mental health professionals, psychologists, psychotherapists, artists, movement practitioners and coaches to offer a diverse range of therapeutic work within an environmental context.
Who is Ecotherapy for?
Ecotherapy Oxford offers an ecotherapeutic approach for anyone experiencing anxiety or depression or who is suffering from stress, worry, low self-esteem or difficulty coping with life at home or at work. Ecotherapy is also for people who want to explore what matters within the context of our broader nature. Anyone can benefit from time in nature. Please contact one of our practitioners to arrange an introductory session.
Within our local Oxford environment we have selected places to work therapeutically that are both supportive and gently challenging.
Does it work?
Yes. While ecotherapy is a relatively new concept, it has a broad and substantial evidence base. Traditionally when we lived in more harmony and balance with the Earth, we may have had more understanding of how our lives were affected by and integrated into the rhythms, seasons, and cycles of the more than human world. See our list of references for details or contact us for further information.
